Rotary DTLA - Jared Alswang Malawi Photo

Come join our meeting September 7 (Thursday) at the Los Angeles Athletic Club where our speakers will be Jared Alswang and William Beshe, pre-med students at the University of Southern California who co-founded Project Malawi to deliver half a million dollars worth of supplies to three medical facilities in the southeastern African nation of Malawi. Will and Jared are also spearheading evaluative research on the efficacy of their project on improving maternal health in surrounding villages.

Jared Alswang is a pre-med student at the University of Southern California majoring in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and double minoring in Spanish and Natural Sciences. Jared was recently elected Director of Emergency Medical Services of the University of Southern California (EMSC), USC’s student-run EMT service, and has served as the Philanthropy Chair of the USC chapter of the Alpha Epsilon Pi fraternity since 2015.

William Belshe is a pre-med student at the University of Southern California majoring in Global Health and minoring in Natural Sciences. Will serves as the External Relations Coordinator for the Emergency Medical Services of University of Southern California (EMSC) and is interested in working in healthcare consulting or the biotechnology industry before medical school.
