September is Foundation month. This is the time of year when all good Rotarians pull out their checkbooks and make a contribution to the Rotary Foundation. The Foundation has two goals for fundraising, at least $100 per Rotarian and something from every Rotarian. Last year our per capita contribution was $219 and every member contributed something. This was most impressive.
September is Foundation month. This is the time of year when all good Rotarians pull out their checkbooks and make a contribution to the Rotary Foundation. The Foundation has two goals for fundraising, at least $100 per Rotarian and something from every Rotarian. Last year our per capita contribution was $219 and every member contributed something. This was most impressive.
For new members and as a reminder to older members, the Foundation is the source of money for all of the good works that Rotary does. When we do a grant to provide clean water in Kenya, the Rotary portion comes from the Foundation. When we do a local project with a District Grant, the money comes from the Foundation. When we eliminate Polio, the money comes from the Foundation.
Last year the Foundation spent over $270,000,000 on grants and programs doing good around the world.
The Foundation gets ALL of the money from Rotarians. So without us contributing, there would be no Foundation and no source of money for all of our good works. And yes Rotarian Bill Gates contributes. But so do Rotarians Peter, Gaby, Tina, Jon, Mina and the other 1.2 million Rotarians.
NOW I am asking all of you to contribute this month. Any contribution before October 20 will also buy you raffle tickets for the drawing at the Foundation Celebration. So, please give me a check made out to “The Rotary Foundation” right away.

This is the annual gala to celebrate the Foundation and to raise money for it. The club has booked a table for 10. 5 seats are sold so there are only 5 left. Tickets are $130. Let me know if you will be attending and send me the check for that too. I guarantee a fun evening.
