Rotary DTLA - Reverend Mandy Sloan McDow

Join us for our next meeting on Thursday, December 7, where our speaker will be Rev. Mandy Sloan McDow, Pastor of Los Angeles First United Methodist Church (https://mandymcdow.com/).

Rev. McDow is a native of Knoxville, Tennesse and attended Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA, and was later admitted to Princeton Theological Seminary, from which she received her Masters of Divinity. After graduating from seminary, Mandy began a Masters in Sacred Music in Voice at Westminster Choir College, but was especially grateful to be appointed to serve West Farms United Methodist Church in Farmingdale, NJ, which taught her how to be a pastor.

Thereafter she has served in a variety of capacities including positions as Children’s Minister at Grace United Methodist Church in Atlanta and the Minister of Christian Education and Spiritual Formation at Saint Mark United Methodist Church. In June 2014 she was appointed to serve as Senior Minister at Laguna Beach United Methodist Church in Laguna Beach, CA, and in July 2017 began serving at Los Angeles First United Methodist Church in Downtown LA.

Mandy holds a black belt in taekwondo, makes music whenever possible, enjoys cooking (but loathes making dinner), knits to sit still, and is the deeply proud mother of Jackson, Cooper, and Sloan, and an impossibly small dog named Posey.

Join us for happy hour/dinner 6-7pm at the 3F Invention Bar, followed by our meeting at 7:15pm.

Guests and visiting Rotarians welcome!
